Flying Dog Brewery

One of the fun things about beer is the labels.  Labels can be artistic, educational, funny, and according to the Michigan Liquor Control Board, occasionally "detrimental to the health, safety or welfare of the general public."  At least back in 2009 that is what they implied when they denied Flying Dog Brewery's "Raging Bitch" Belgian Style Indian Pale Ale from being sold in Michigan.  The brewery, located in Frederick, Maryland, claimed that their rights to free speech were being, well, piddled on.  Flying Dog filed suit in the Michigan District Court and the won the case.  Free speech was upheld and Michiganders can enjoy another really good beer.  Here's the label.  I don't feel like my health, safety, or welfare have been compromised, but my quality of life has improved.

Cheers,
Zymus
